Ce premier album de Marva Whitney , produit par James Brown ; " It's My Thing " est édité en Amérique sur le label King Records KS / KSD 1062 [ US ] en Aout 1969 . Il parait également en Angleterre sur le label Polydor Records 583 767 [ UK ] , en Allemagne et en Turquie sur le label Polydor Records 184 321 [ GE / TR ] la même année . Sublime album de Funky et de Rhythm 'n' Blues bien connu des amateurs de Soul Music . En fait , il s'agit d'un deuxième album , puisque Marva Whitney avait déjà enregistré un premier lp intitulé " I Sing Soul With James Brown LP King Records KSD 1053 [ US ] en Juin 1969 . Mais quand le single de l'album "Your Love Was Good For Me" n'eut guère l'accueil escompté , James Brown a décidé de ne pas diffuser l'album . Il a ensuite travaillé avec Marva vers un style plus funk , comme indiqué sur l'album plus tard " It's My Thing " , et c'est ainsi que " It's My Thing " devient donc son premier album . Quand à " I Sing Soul With James Brown " , je n'ai bien sur pas cet album , mais j'ai quelques chansons et un enregistrement d'une radio de presque deux heures sur lequel figurent d'autres chansons de cet album " Unreleased " , que vous trouverez dans mes petits bonus .
