    The Sounds Of Liberation : Album " New Horizons " Dogtown Records ‎FW9683 [ US ]

    The Sounds Of Liberation était un groupe et un mouvement social , formé dans les quartiers Germantown et Mt Airy de Philadelphie en 1970 . Le groupe était composé de sept membres : Khan Jamal ( vibraphone ) , Byard Lancaster ( saxophone alto ) , Billy Mills ( basse ) , Dwight James ( batterie ) , Monnette Sudler ( guitare ) , Omar Hill ( percussions ) , William Brister ( percussionniste , aka Rashid Salim ) . Ils n'avaient qu'à leur actif qu'un seul album ; " New Horizons " édité sur le label Dogtown Records ‎FW9683 [ US ] en Mars 1972 ( 300 copies pressées ) , mais un deuxième lp " Unreleased Columbia University 1973 " est édité en Amérique sous la forme d'un cd sur le label Dogtown Records DGTWN-01 [ US ] en 2018 ( ce live était jusqu'alors resté inédit ) . C'est un album de Soul Jazz et de Free Jazz et , si vous n'aimez pas le Free Jazz je ne vous conseille pas cet album car les deux titres d'une durée de " Happy Tuesday " 19'20 et " We'll Tell You Later " 10'45 vont vous paraître très longs . Pour ma part j'aime bien cet album . coolcoolcool
